An exhilarating, action-packed Regency

Lord Alexander Sheffield attends a boring orgy hosted by Lord Dunster when he comes across a thief. Surprising himself and the felon, he helps her with her task. When he hears Dunster and others arriving, he kisses the lovely criminal helping her avoid prison time. The lady thief repays him by punching him, kicking his shin, and bruising his hip before she escapes into the night. However, he grabs a gold chain with a crest ring on it just before she flees. Reflecting on his defeat to the woman, Alex smiles while thinking how far he has tumbled since his days as "The Black Cat", Wellington's top Intel Officer.

Alex quickly learns the crest is that of Hadley of Waddington and his crime partner Lady Portia. At a dance he confronts her and offers his services. She is not sure whom to trust in her quest to find her papa who disappeared. Meanwhile, the government asks Alex to locate a key lost document that contains the "Riddle of Rasfistan" that could impact the war with Napoleon. Suddenly, Alex's plate is full with the government job, Portia's quest, and the love he has for her.

THE TIGER'S MISTRESS is an exhilarating, action-packed Regency romance starring two delightful lead protagonists, two "Shakespearean" siblings, and a host of other players adding depth to the tale. Though in many ways typical of the sub-genre with the macho retired espionage agent coming out of retirement for country and love, the mysteries of the puzzle of the riddle and her father as well as Portia living up to her namesake freshen up the tale.
