What Your Mom Didn't Tell You About Men...
...Dr. George Weinberg reveals in this excellent tell-all book about the male psyche. The author leaves no stone unturned, pointing the way for every woman to help the man she wants to make that life commitment. According to Weinberg, men want to make the commitment even more than women do. He effectively proves his point through examples everyone can relate to easily. Setting up a few basic premises, such as the formidable "masculine pretense," the deeply embedded psychological culprit that invariably prevents men from giving up their perceived "freedom," Weinberg takes the reader from first date foibles through the minefield of bedroom behavior to pitfalls of the financial faux pas. It's a page turner for women who want to know not only what holds men back from commitment, but what parental, peer pressure and cultural influences mold men's behavior. Men who want to know why they act the way they do are likely to find Weinberg's book equally compelling. I recommend this book highly!
The Real Deal
At last, a book about commitment that's smart, straight-forward and gets results--all without advocating game-playing and manipulation! I read the book in one sitting over the weekend, and was blown away by the accuracy of George Weinberg's analyses of men's "commitment issues," and by the incredibly useful advice to help women help men resolve the obstacles to commitment. A godsend!
Makes Sense
This book makes sense. It tells you the 4 reasons a man will commit that women often aren't aware of. Also, it discusses how to argue, although the book, "The Seven Principles of Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country's Foremost Relationship Expert" covers is best! However, this book is good at explaining why men don't/do commit, based off his research. Written for the woman's perspective. Much better than "The Rules"! Gave me confidence by realizing men also want commitment.
